Checkerboard Mesa:

This is the grand Checkerboard Mesa in Zion National Park, Utah. Located near the East Entrance, the Checkerboard Mesa is grooved vertically and horizontally by forces of nature.

Slate Rock:

Zion's landscape is quite diverse. From this vantage, several interesting features are evident, and each mountaintop is unique. Even the rock formations vary one to another.

Pink Arch at Zion:

Arches abound in the park due to the nature of the rock formations. Arches are created by the sheer weight of the rock itself giving way to natural erosion processes and other forces.
