San Gimignano, Provence of Tuscany

STORY: San Gimignano is a another medieval walled commune on a hill southwest of Firenze in the Provence of Tuscany. Known for its white wine, it has stood since the third century BC and has been defended even against the Huns in its long history of survival from a small village to a walled town. The town boasts the still-standing home and greatest shrine to Santa Fina, or Serafina fo the 13th century.
