CENTRO DEL COLONNATO St Peter's Square, The Vatican

STORY: Below your feet find an inscription in stone marking one of two centers of the ellipse created by the two long colonnades marked, "CENTRO DEL COLONNATO". This special place in St Peter's Square demonstrates the Square's designers' grasp on mathematics, architecture and aesthetics so long ago. The rows of columns appear to line up behind one another when standing at either elliptical focus in the Square. The stone was digitally recreated since I didn't expect to be able to finish this panorama off top and bottom, and did not shoot a down shot on account of imminent rain.
